Electricity bill issues
Unfortunately there is no simple gudance we can offer, due to differences in meters and usage. However we have been able to help several clients. In each case this has involved individual investigation and a great deal of time in communication and negotiation with the supplier. This is where our long standing experience and knowledge has proved valuable. Some of our most notable successes are as follows:
Help for a tenant
Reduction of electricity charges from £2027.41 to £635.61 when we identified that the tenant was being charged for the meter connected to a different property.
Help for a landlord
IIn quite a complex case we arranged reinstatement of supply following an inappropriate disconnection and compensation of £500 for losses incurred by the landlord.
Obviously we are not able to test meters or comment on technical aspects of their usage or operation! This would be the responsibility of your supplier.
We can, however, identify what type of meter you have and which rate is normal and economy, whether your meter is operating on GMT or GMT/BST. We can help you to check the operation of your boiler and advise on the correct settings. We look at your bill and check if you are being billed correctly. There are at least 5 different types of meter for the apartments at NV Buildings, at least two types of boiler, time switch and programmer. With information about all these and suggestions from us, you will have the knowledge of how to use your system most energy efficiently.
